A Mason police officer was attacked by a chained dog while wrestling with an unruly suspect on the ground Monday night.
The officers were investigating a domestic complaint when Joel Vandouser refused to obey the officers' commands. When the officers tried to subdue the 43-year-old Mason man, he resisted and the officers were forced to use tasers and pepper spray.
Vandouser and the officers fell to the ground and as they wrestled, one of the officers was attacked by a dog chained nearby. The dog bit the officer's leg.
Finally, Vandouser gave up, was arrested and has been charged with a felony drunk driving charge and resisting arrest.
The officer was treated at a hospital for dog bites on his leg and will be off the job for a couple of days.
