Jackson and East Lansing Celebrating National Train Day

The Amtrak stations in Jackson and East Lansing are among a number of stations across the state celebrating National Train Day.

The day marks the 143rd anniversary of the nation's first transcontinental railroad.

In Jackson, kids will get free Amtrak hats, stickers and be able to look at a model railroad.

The station is on East Michigan. The event runs from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Similar festivities at the East Lansing station ran from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.
