A Lansing man is being evaluated for mental illness this weekend after stabbing a physician at Sparrow Hospital.

Lansing Police say the man was being treated at the hospital for a mental issue and didn't like what the doctor was telling him so he took out a pocket knife and stabbed him in the neck.

Police say the doctor is fine now and did not suffer any major injuries.

Charges for the man are pending the current mental evaluation.
