The Lansing man hit by a semi-truck on Interstate 496 last week is still in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
24-year-old Gavin William Becker was hit on the eastbound side near Pennsylvania Avenue around 4:30 Friday morning. He was located unresponsive in the road and witnesses told police he was hit by a semi that didn't stop.
The truck driver, a 48-year-old California resident, called police within an hour of the accident. He was interviewed and arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, causing injury. He was in jail for a short time but was let go, pending the outcome of the accident report and a review by the prosecutor's office.
