EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan progressives will discuss topics ranging from protecting collective bargaining and voting rights to repealing the emergency manager law during their annual summit.
The daylong meeting begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing.
The keynote speakers are Barbara Arnwine, executive director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and George Goehl, executive director of National People's Action, which is dedicated to advancing racial and economic justice.
Progress Michigan executive director Zack Pohl says the summit is intended to help progressives find ways to join together to work toward change.
