Police Warn Michigan Mushroom Hunters About Meth Leftovers

Posted: 1:32 PM Apr 28, 2012
Reporter: Associated Press

REED CITY, Mich. (AP) -- Law enforcement officials are asking Michigan's mushroom hunters to be wary of possibly coming across the remains of a methamphetamine laboratory.

Detective Lt. Daniel King of the Traverse Narcotics Team says contaminated equipment used to make meth recently was found at three sites in Osceola County.

The Cadillac News reports (http://bit.ly/JOUoDw) a hazardous materials team cleaned up the sites.

Mushroom hunters and anyone else who treks through the woods such as hikers, bikers and woodcutters are being warned to stay clear of such toxic finds and call police immediately if they come across them.
