Two Men Formally Charged with Fatal Owosso Accident

Two Owosso men have been formally charged for the Thanksgiving day death of another Owosso man.

Kevin Hart, 19, and Charles Mitts, 20, were each arraigned on Friday with one count of reckless driving, causing death.

An eyewitness told investigators that Hart and Mitts were drag racing each other in their pickup trucks northbound on Shiawassee Street in Owosso. A car driven by 55-year-old Darrell Hall of Owosso turned into their path.

The truck driven by Hart slammed into the car, killing Hall. Hart was arrested at the scene. Mitts fled, but was later found at his home and arrested.

Each remains in jail on $20,000 bond.
