WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama says he's "very optimistic" about the prospects for legislation revamping health care, arguing that the country simply must control skyrocketing costs in this field.

He told a news conference th at unless the government acts now, the country will spend $1 out of every $5 on health care within the next 10 years. Obama commented in the wake of several days of work — and political wrangling — in Congress over the transformation he seeks in the way people get medical care in this country.

Despite sharp differences between Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill over what role the government would play in a new health care system, Obama said he hopes "Congress will continue to make significant progress on this issue" in the weeks ahead.

Did any gov tell doctors, hospitals, health insurances, anything to do with health care, that they couldn't continue to raise prices?NO.So here we are. Many can't afford or just go without due to job loss ect.Hind sight,or not thinking of anything about money. After all many wages were going up.Greed wanting allo they could get.Same with housing prices, auto wages, utilities.food and oil people drained many, and look at insurance prices for health and auto. Now the gov says enough.Prices must come down, and many wages also. What is the gov going to do about all thoes bussiness that went over seas leaving many with no jobs?If health care can be offered cheaper by the gov and many other things, either the high priced dudes will bring down prices or go out of bussiness. No gov should of allowed prices to get out of hand.Money took care of money.Yes it is time it6 stops in allhigh prices. It has ruined our economy and caused serious problems for many.
