"Help me!... Please! 222 Jones St.!... He came in, he was asking for work, he hit me from behind... I'm bleeding all over."

The frantic call Linda Jackson placed to 911 just minutes after being bashed over the head with a beer bottle was played in court Monday.

Jackson-- and prosecution-- say suspected serial killer Matthew Macon is the man who took such brutal actions.

"I remember at least two blows," she said on the jury stand. "They were hard blows. If I'd had more, I wouldn't be here."

The jury was shown some of her injuries-- her head injuries have left her needing neurological evaluations. She says suffers now from vertigo, balance problems and has constant loud ringing in her ears.

Jackson says she met Macon just minutes before she says he assaulted her.

He showed up at her door asking for work. She said she didn't have any, but she'd take his name and number anyway.

"i turned to walk back into the house and it was just a couple of steps. i had just time enough to have a hovering thought that i should check to make sure he's gone," Jackson tells the jury. "That's when the first bottle came down on my head."

Jackson gave police the information to make the criminal sketch that was widely distributed through the media and Jackson later identified Macon in a lineup.

"I remember feeling some uncertainty for a while making the ID," she says.

Macon's attorney Mike O'Briant capitalized on that uncertainty, pressing Jackson on why she would swear Macon's the man if she felt unsure.

She said she's resolved those issues now-- and she's positive-- that Macon, who sat just yards away from her, is the man who assaulted her just months ago.
