The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says they may have found an active meth lab inside a home in Henrietta Township.
It happened Friday when two men were rushed to the hospital after sustaining severe burns from an apparent explosion. Authorities say a friend of the victims said the blast happened from a gas can that ignited.
Sheriff's later learned that wasn't the cause. Officials responded to the 8000 block of Coonhill Road where the incident occurred. There they found several components used for producing methamphetamines.
A search warrant was issued on the residence and a narcotics unit was called to the scene. It appears that there was an active meth lab at the home that had possibly exploded causing the injuries.
Both men, Robert Long, 30, Stockbridge and Gregory Dalton, 26, Munity were rushed to U of M Hospital with life threatening injuries.
This incident remains under investigation.
