Lansing city council's Public Safety Committee got a look at what appears to be a crime being committed. Lansing police played video caught by a surveillance camera of a shooting in the midst of an unruly crowd early last Sunday.
The crowd got out of hand after leaving the Venue nightclub in the 6800 block of South Cedar Street.
While police tried to disperse the crowd a gun was fired. A victim wasn't found at the scene, but a 21 year old man with a bullet wound to the buttocks showed up at a Lansing hospital emergency room a short time later.
Because of the video evidence and continuing police attention to the night club, the Public Safety Committee has scheduled a special meeting this Friday to discuss the possibility of closing the club.
