You might not be able to see them, or hear them, but they'll be out there.
No not ghosts or goblins, we're talking about the real-life men and women in uniform... the police.
"Officers will patrol more of the residential areas for the kids during the trick or treating times," Sgt. Matthew Flint said.
Flint, of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office said deputies will be patrolling neighborhoods this Halloween, but it's up to parents and kids to pay attention to safety tips.
"We encourage kids to travel in groups with an adult and wear reflective clothing without masks so that they don't cover up their eyes and have good visibility," Flint said.
Michigan State Police will have extra personnel out tonight to keep an eye out for adults who might celebrate a bit too much.
"For Halloween weekend, we've put out a few extra cars out on the night shift with the focus on drunk driving enforcement," Trooper Todd Parsons said.
Parsons said this holiday is falling on a Saturday when many bar go-ers will have an extra hour to drink thanks to day light savings time.
"Typically when Halloween falls on a Saturday, the number of drunk driving accidents has gone up," he said.
In fact, Parsons also said, this holiday is known for pedestrian accidents as well.
"According to the Highway Safety Patrol, more pedestrians are struck by vehicles on this Halloween holiday," he said.
Some pretty scary stuff for sure, but information everyone should think about.
"We encourage everyone to slow down tonight," Sgt. Flint said.
Some tips from the Police to keep this holiday safe:
-Wear reflective clothing or carry a flashlight.
-Use Sidewalks if available.
-Limit Clothing or masks which impair vision.
-Make sure kids go out with friends.
-Younger children should be accompanied by an adult.
-Remind kids not to enter a stranger's house or car.
-Check out the candy when you get home.
