Severe Storms complete with heavy rain, wind and hail hit Charlotte Wednesday.

"It was unreal, I was upstairs and it sounded like something was pounding the house," Zeb Taylor said.

"I heard a lot of wind and hail coming down, we had a pile of hail on our porch," Marcella Morris said.

"The rain started to come down a lot harder and it started hailing," Juan Urdiales said.

When the storm hit, Urdiales took a video from his front porch on Cochran Street.

"I got my camcorder and stared recording," Urdiales said. "But we couldn't see out front, all the hail was coming down so hard."

All over town, there were downed trees, power lines and flooded streets.

Many trees blocked streets. Police were called in to direct traffic.

"Mother nature decided to come down on us today," Sergeant Curtis Bristol said. "There are wires down and trees down."

The storm left piles of dime-sized hail all over town, but police said the biggest problem is flooding leaving drivers to fend for themselves.

"Severe flooding stalling out cars causing a traffic hazard," Bristol said. "The drains can't handle it, they're getting clogged with leaves the hail brought down."

Police said the good news is there were no reports of injuries, but there were plenty of calls of property damage.

I have a wheel barrow on my patio and it is full of water and it is at least 6 inches deep. We had more rain than was expected. I didn't hear any hail from any of the storms that came through. We dodged the bullit out here on Grand River. Lights blinked twice but stayed on. WHEW!!!

I know it's reported that Lansing got 1.73" of rain from yesterdays storms. Well, my rain gauge measured 3" at the end of the storms. That's a lot of rain!
