SPEAKER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Sanilac County authorities may have found a bison bandit.
Sheriff's deputies were rounding up a dozen bison that escaped Thursday from a farm in Speaker Township.
Undersheriff Garry Biniecki says an unidentified man shot one and loaded it into a livestock trailer attached to his pickup truck.
Deputies started searching for the man after corralling the animals with help from residents on snowmobiles. The Times Herald of Port Huron says the man went to the owner's house Friday and admitted he absconded with the bison. The owner notified sheriff's officials, who were investigating.
Speaker Township is about 60 miles north of Detroit.
