BLACKMAN TWP., JACKSON CO. - A couple has a gun pointed at them and are locked in a closet by would-be robbers in Blackman Township.

The homeowner tells police that at about 4:30 Tuesday morning he heard a knock on the door. Outside he saw a woman. He opened the door to see what the woman wanted, and a man rushed from out of sight and pointed a gun at his face. The gunman demanded money, but the man said he did not have any. The gunman then confronted a woman in the house. She said there was no money in the home.

The homeowners told police they got the impression the two would-be thieves had come to the wrong house.

The homeowners were locked in the closet, and the couple left. The homeowners say they were able to force their way out of the closet and call 9-1-1.

Blackman-Leoni Public Safety officers soon arrived. They attempted a track using a dog, but it was unsuccessful.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Blackman-Leoni Public Safety Detective Bureau at 517-990-9700.
