Woman Charged with Torturing Step-Grandchild
Sara Rae Walters, 34, of Osceola Township is charged with child abuse and torture. Her step-grandson had to be hospitalized with over 60 different injuries.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY - Three months after a toddler was hospitalized with severe injuries, the boy's step-grandmother is criminally charged with torture. 34-year-old Sara Rae Walters was charged Friday with torturing the 3-year-old boy at her Osceola Township home in Livingston County.
The boy was admitted to University of Michigan Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on October 21, 2011. Upon examination by medical personnel he was found to have over 60 different injuries, including a subdural hematoma, a core body temp of 88 degrees and numerous other superficial cuts and bruises.
Detectives with the Livingston County Sheriff's conducted the investigation.
First degree child abuse and torture has a potential sentence of life in prison. Walters's bond was set at $200,000.
