PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) -- A woman says a mummified body found in the garage of a suburban Detroit home is that of her sister, who apparently died six years ago at age 49.
Paula Logan tells WXYZ-TV that the body found Wednesday in Pontiac is that of Pia Farrenkopf. Authorities investigating the discovery haven't released her name.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard says there was a key in the ignition of the car that held the body. But he says the ignition was off, and there still was gas in the tank.
Bouchard says he wonders if the woman suddenly died while in the rear seat of her Jeep. A contractor sent by the bank that holds the mortgage discovered the body.
Neighbors say the homeowner hasn't been seen in years.
