Blowing snow and ice are blamed for poor road conditions that caused a reported 65-vehicle crash in Bay County and numerous other accidents across mid-Michigan.
Parts of Interstate 75 were closed late Friday afternoon south of Bay City.
Traffic began to move again about 8 p.m. after wrecked vehicles were moved from the roadway.
Driver Krista Ketterer said car parts were scattered along U.S. 10 in Bay County.
Dozens of accidents were reported in Genesee County due to the snow and ice. No serious injuries were reported. More than a dozen accidents were reported in St. Clair County.
Saginaw County received about three inches of snow Friday. Temperatures also dropped from the 30s into the mid-teens.
