ST. LOUIS -- DeWitt gymnast Jordyn Wieber now appears to be a sure shot for the 2012 Summer Olympics as the two-time defending U.S. National Champion.
She entered the day tied with Gabby Douglas atop the standings, but Douglas fell off the beam in the first event of the day, allowing 16-year-old Wieber, also the World Champion, to take her second straight title by two-tenths of a point.
Jordyn was solid on all four events in St. Louis at the Visa National Championships.
Wieber now sets her sights on a good perfomance in San Jose, Calif., at the end of the month at the Olympic trials.
Barring injury, she's a lock of the U.S. Olympic team.
