Whole Foods Announces East Lansing Store

By  |

The upscale grocer, Whole Foods, says will open a new store in East Lansing. The property will be where the Velocipede Peddler cycle store is currently located. The cycle store says it plans to relocate down the street to Brookfield Plaza in September.

Meridian Township officials say plans call for the current building to be torn down and a new one built.

Mark Kieselbach, Meridian Township's Director of Community Planning and Development, says it's "great news for the township."

Kieselbach says it's a nice central location for its residents along with people of East Lansing and MSU students.

A release from Whole Foods' corporate office says East Lansing is one of 12 new leases averaging 41,000 square feet in Size. The stores are currently schedule to open, at the earliest, later in 2014.
