Lottery officials say just one ticket matches the $425 million Powerball drawing. It's a ticket sold at a convenience store in central California.
Wednesday night's drawing has a cash payout option of $242.2 million.
The biggest Powerball jackpot was $590.5 million in May.
The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were: 1, 17, 35, 49, 54 and a Powerball of 34. It wasn't immediately clear if anyone matched all the winning numbers.
Odds of winning it all are 1 in about 175 million.
The drawing followed several consecutive drawings that produced no top winner, boosting the jackpot to one of the largest in U.S. history. But it's still far from the record.
The nation's biggest lottery prize was a $656 million dollar Mega Millions jackpot won in March 2012. The biggest Powerball jackpot was a $590.5 million prize won last May.
