Washtenaw Co. Man Wounded In Thanksgiving Shooting

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- A 47-year-old man was wounded in a shooting during a Thanksgiving gathering in Ypsilanti.

The Ann Arbor News reports an acquaintance allegedly shot the unnamed Ypsilanti Township man in the abdomen at the family gathering.

According to police, a disagreement escalated into a fight, during which a family acquaintance used a shotgun to shoot the victim at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say the 28-year-old suspect left before officers arrived and hasn't been arrested yet.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in serious condition.
