A World War II veteran from Howell is in Normandy this week, reliving his memories of the D-Day invasion. 89-year-old Donald Burgett was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division, known as the Screaming Eagles, a unit trained for air assault operations. He was wounded three times during his service and awarded a Bronze Star for valor. Burgett has also written four books about his war experience.
