Friends and family gathered outside the Magnuson Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue in south Lansing Thursday to remember Richard Pruitt, the 17-year-old who died after being shot in the face last weekend. Pruitt was shot on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard early Saturday morning. Lansing police tell wilx.com he'd gotten into an altercation with someone following a concert Friday night. Pruitt's brother, also named Richard, said, "We just wanna live his name up, long live legend Slick Angelo. Everybody gonna know his name before this is gone." Earlier Thursday, Pruitt's mother pleaded for peace and asked her son's friends not to retaliate. Lansing police have not made any arrests, but say they are looking for a person of interest. News 10 and wilx.com will keep tracking this case.
