Vandals caused extensive damage to book shelves and equipment in the Parma branch of the Jackson District Library over the past weekend.
The damage was discovered Monday morning. A library administrator says the library is typically open on Saturday, but was not this past weekend because of a Summer Reading mobile library event.
In addition to book shelves being knocked over, computer screens were smashed.
The Jackson County Sheriff's office is investigating.
