ALAIEDON TWP - State police have identified the woman who was killed in a car accident along I-96 Wednesday evening. 54-year-old Joan Lisa Turner, of Lansing was killed when the car in which she was a passenger went out of control and crashed near the Okemos Road interchange. The 18-year-old driver received a fractured neck in the accident and remains in critical condition at Sparrow Hospital. She is from Clinton Township. A preliminary investigation has not determined a cause of the accident. State police say alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.
