ARMADA, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities are executing a search warrant in their investigation of the killing of a 14-year-old girl whose body was found along a nature trail in southeastern Michigan.
State police Lt. Mike Shaw tells the Detroit Free Press that the search was taking place Monday. He says the warrant is sealed and won't give the location of the search.
Joggers found April Millsap's body July 24 in a drainage ditch along the Macomb Orchard Trail in Armada in northern Macomb County. The recent middle school graduate disappeared while walking her dog.
An autopsy shows that April died of blunt head trauma and asphyxiation.
In July, homicide investigators searched a home in Wales Township in adjoining St. Clair County and arrested a father and adult son on drug charges.
