April was the 8th straight month Michigan's unemployment rate dropped.

More people found work in Michigan in April and it was enough to bump the unemployment rate down one-tenth of a point to 7.4%. The number of people working or looking for a job rose by 11,000. It's the 8th straight month the state's unemployment rate declined. Nationwide it also fell by four-tenths to 6.3%. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
