U.S. Auto Sales Down in February

U.S. car sales cooled-down in February and auto companies are blaming the frigid weather.

General Motors faced a 1% overall drop last month, with sales for their top selling vehicle, the Chevy Silverado, falling by 12%. On the other hand, sales of the Chevy Cruze, increased by 22%.

Ford took a larger hit, with sales falling 6%. The company is attributing much of the losses to its rental and business sales, which were also negatively impacted by the weather.

Chrysler and Nissan both reported double digit gains, but say they had to sell many of their top-sellers at a discounted price.
