It's going to be another few months before the man accused of killing a state trooper goes to trial.

A judge set a Feb. 18 trial date for Eric Knysz.

The 19-year-old is charged with murder of a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm.

His 21-year-old pregnant wife, Sarah, is also facing charges related to the shooting. She's due back in court in two weeks.

Police say Eric Knysz shot Trooper Paul Butterfield in the head during a traffic stop in Ludington last month.

The two were arrested a few hours later, after a shootout with police.

Trooper Butterfield didn't make it out of surgery.

More than 1,000 friends, family and fellow officers attended his funeral.

Trooper Butterfield was 43 years old.
