GLEN HAVEN, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say it's unclear why a man wanted on a domestic violence charge took his three children to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in northern Michigan, where authorities found them after a 12-hour search.
The man from the Detroit suburb of Orchard Lake was found Monday night with his 14- and 10-year-old daughters and his 9-year-old son.
His wife had filed the domestic violence complaint with the Emmet County Sheriff's Department the previous day.
Leelanau County Sheriff Mike Borkovich says the children had been given nothing to eat or drink since Sunday morning. They spent the night in the woods at the lakeshore and were covered with mosquito bites.
Their father is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday. Borkovich says there's no evidence he intended to harm them.
