Michigan House Speaker Jase Bolger (R-Marshall) is apologizing to those who may have been offended in regards to the three Republican lawmakers joking about reading women's magazines during time between votes on the House floor.
“Regardless of who you are, you have probably made a joke you intended to be funny but that turned out not to be. This issue is not reflective of the Michigan House of Representatives, the Republican Party, nor the three legislators in the picture. What they meant to be a joke wasn't funny to some and I apologize to those who may have been offended", says Bolger.
"The concerns facing Michigan's women are very real, and that is why we have been working to attract more jobs to Michigan, increase the quality of education for Michigan’s kids, and improve public safety in all communities. The hardworking women and men in our state are finding better careers, increased educational opportunities and more security in our neighborhoods because of the work of all the Republican representatives in the House", says Bolger.
"As we approach Father's Day, I know Reps. Peter Pettalia, Ben Glardon and Roger Victory are men who care deeply about their wives and their kids."
