The Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter is hoping a reward will help lead them to the person responsible for abandoning a dog in the cold weather.
The pup was found tied up under a bridge on Washington Avenue in Lansing on Saturday. Animal Control is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved.
The dog was suffering from frostbite, had injuries to its head and legs and was dehydrated and hungry when officers found it.
The dog has since received treatment from a local vet and is now recovering in foster care. The shelter says many people have expressed interest in adopting the dog.
If you recognize the dog and think you know who it may have belong to, or who might have left it tied up, please call the Ingham County Animal Control at 517-676-8376. You can stay anonymous.
