The Ingham County Animal Shelter posted an update on the condition of "Skinny Minnie", the emaciated dog that was found after being abandoned at Hawk Island Park in south Lansing, Thursday morning.
Minnie is currently recovering under the care of a veterinarian, with a qualified foster family. The shelter is hoping that Minnie will be able to make a full recovery, but it is still very early in the process, and she has a long road ahead of her.
Minnie's case is being investigated by Ingham County Animal Control law enforcement. The investigators are hoping that people in the neighborhoods around Hawk Island may know something about Minnie, and the people who are responsible for her condition.
If you have information that can help the investigators find who may be responsible, please contact the shelter. Those investigating this case are interested in any information from neighbors and the community that will help determine what led to this dogs condition and subsequent charges.
