WARREN, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a reported explosion involving a battery has injured two people at a General Motors Co. research facility in suburban Detroit.
City of Warren Fire Chief Dave Frederick says crews were called to GM's Technical Center on Wednesday morning following a report of an explosion involving a lithium battery.
Frederick says two people were taken for treatment and a fire at the facility was put out. He says he didn't have details about the extent of the injuries.
GM spokesman Alan Adler says all employees were accounted for Wednesday morning and the automaker was seeking additional information from the scene.
