UPDATED INFORMATION: St. Johns Woman Seriously Injured in Downtown Lansing Hit and Run

Two men are in custody, accused of causing a serious accident at the intersection of Michigan and Pennsylvania Avenues early Thursday morning.

Police say a van collided with a car at the intersection. The driver of the van and a passenger fled the scene. They were later spotted by Sparrow Security and Lansing Township police near Sparrow Hospital and arrested.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old St Johns woman, was seriously injured. A Lansing police report says she was taken to a hospital with life threatening injuries..

The suspects are a 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old man. Both are from Perry. They were treated for minor injuries and then jailed.

The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. and the intersection remained closed through morning rush hour while the accident was investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
