VERMONTVILLE - Deputies in Eaton County get two separate arrests while investigating a burglary alarm. On Saturday, January 18, at approximately 1 a.m. Eaton County Deputies were called to an alarm at Duey's Corner located on North Ionia Road in Vermontville. The deputies found footprints and Deputy Elbert Sidel and police dog Cash were called to the scene. K-9 Cash was able to track down the suspects. The deputies say they were able to get the suspects to confess to breaking into Duey's Corner and they recovered merchandise that was stolen from the store.

While deputies were investigating the scene, a driver became stuck in the parking lot across from the store. Deputies believe he was trying to avoid the patrol cars that were on scene. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was locked up in the Eaton County Jail.
