"The Dean" Gets Overhaul

An aging building in downtown Lansing is now looking a little more modern.

The ribbon was cut on "The Dean" apartment building this afternoon.

The building was given a major face lift while keeping its historic character intact.

In addition to refinishing all the apartments,, crews got rid of some nearby run-down lots and put up some fancy new canopies over the entryways.

"We were able to really put our touches on it. Not only to respect the historic character of the building. To put our touches on it to make Lansing residents proud to live in this building." said David Vanderklok, Architect, Studio Intrigue

"The Dean" was constructed in 1927 by R.E. Olds and Philip C. Dean.

The renovations also include two new handicap accessible apartments.
