ROSEVILLE, Mich. (AP) -- A St. Clair Shores teen has been killed and seven other people injured in an early morning crash in Roseville.
Police say the 16-year-old was a passenger in a SUV that ran a red light and hit another vehicle shortly after midnight Saturday a few miles northeast of Detroit. She was thrown from the SUV.
Tony Diorio tells The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens that his granddaughter, Aliyah Diorio, told another girl she didn't feel good after the crash and then "just passed away."
Eight people were in the SUV, including the 16-year-old driver. Four teens and an adult suffered minor injuries. Two other teenagers were in temporary serious condition.
The 33-year-old driver of the other vehicle has been arrested for drunken driver. She was not hurt.
