Suspect in Custody in Big Rapids Shooting

The man believed to be responsible for the off-campus shooting of a Ferris State University student has been arrested and is in custody this morning.

Another person, a female, is also in custody and being questioned.

According to the Ferris State University website, the man was taken into custody late Saturday evening from an apartment in Finch Court, on the Ferris State Big Rapids campus.

He is being held in the Mecosta County Jail and the investigation is ongoing.

The shooting happened at 4:15 a.m Saturday at the Venlo Place apartments. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
