SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a state trooper has been released from a hospital after being shot in Saginaw in an exchange of gunfire that also left a suspect wounded.
MLive.com reports police responded Thursday night to a reported shooting and the suspect fled. State police say troopers saw a man matching the suspect's description enter an abandoned home.
When officers approached, police say a shooting ensued.
Police say the trooper, who was wearing a bullet-resistant vest, was briefly hospitalized before being released later Thursday night. Police say Friday the suspect was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Names of those involved weren't immediately released.
