Democratic lawmakers want Michigan to end its ban on same-sex marriage.
Representatives Sam Singh (D-East Lansing), Adam Zemke (D-Ann Arbor), and Jeff Irwin (D-Ann Arbor) announced a four-pronged piece of legislation in front of the State Capitol Monday morning.
The bill would repeal the 2004 amendment to the state constitution that banned same-sex marriage and ask Congress to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act.
Reporter Lorne Fultonberg will have more on the story tonight at five.
