When lawmakers get back from their summer break they'll be stepping into some new digs at the Capitol.
Parts of the building are undergoing renovations this summer including the House and Senate chambers and the entire Fourth floor.
The improvements include new wiring to accommodate the new technology, a top to bottom cleaning of the chambers and new carpet, which is much needed after its last replacement 22-years ago.
"We had ripped seams and torn areas and for me as a facility director it was a safety hazard. I was always wondering who was going to be the first one to trip and hit one of these desks in here." said Steve Benkovsky, Facility Director.
We're told crews are about a week ahead of schedule.
They hope to be done by the third or fourth week of August.
