Snyder & Schauer File Campaign Finance Reports

By  |

Republican Gov. Rick Snyder reports raising $3.3 million this year for his re-election campaign, about $500,000 more than his Democratic opponent, Mark Schauer.
Schauer was aided by applying for nearly $1 million in public campaign funds.
Snyder on Friday filed a campaign finance report showing he has nearly $4.7 million in savings. Schauer's report showed $2.5 million cash on hand.
Snyder's campaign is emphasizing his money advantage and decision not to take contributions from political action committees. The Schauer camp says he has cut into Snyder's fundraising edge without spending as much as the governor.
A recent EPIC-MRA poll showed the candidates about even. Snyder had 46 percent of likely voters polled and Schauer 43 percent, with a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
