As of 3:00 PM, there have been multiple reports of problems on the roadways, due to snowy weather in the southern counties of Mid-Michigan
Washtenaw County - I-94 Westbound just west of Chelsea continues to be slowed, while authorities deal with a semi rollover. The accident happened around 12:30PM. The westbound lanes have been closed, and the Washtenaw County Dispatch does not know when they will be able to fully re-open the highway. Viewers tell News 10 that the westbound traffic is backed up for miles.
Travel on I-94 has been hazardous throughout the Monday. Steady snow has made conditions slick. I-94 eastbound was blocked briefly this morning due to numerous slide-offs and fender-benders. Jackson County authorities reported slick conditions on I-94 early in the day, but say things have cleared up in the afternoon.
Further west in Calhoun County, conditions remain "extremely slick," according to troopers at the Michigan State Police Coldwater Post. There have been are numerous slide-offs through the day, but they say the highway has remained open. I-69 north of Marshall had to be closed for a while earlier in the afternoon due to accidents, but has since been re-opened.
