Smaller Salary for New GM CEO

By  |

The first female CEO of General Motors will be getting paid a little less than the man she's replacing.

Mary Barra's base salary will be $1.6 million.

Dan Akerson's base was $100,000 more. He will make the same salary as a GM consultant.

Barra will be eligible for another $2.8 million in short-term incentives, as well as undisclosed long-term incentives.

Akerson's total salary last year was more than $11 million after bonuses and such.
