Shib Sibs' Olympic Dreams Come True

By  |

It's a dream Olympic ice dancers Alex and Maia Shibutani have been waiting all their lives to fulfill.

"They would have these little, in our living room, like 'We are getting our medals,' you know we have to bow down to get them," said their mother Naomi. "As a parent you go, 'Oh, ho, that's cute, but the fact that they are able to fulfill a dream, that they have pursued together, is just very overwhelming."

The dream has always been pursued together for Alex and Maia, known to many as the Shib Sibs. But of course, family support was instrumental to getting them there.

Tonight at six, News 10's Lorne Fultonberg introduces you to the Shibutanis and shows you how a brother-sister team has thrived in a traditionally romantic sport.
