Michigan state police say they're investigating a high speed motorcycle chase that sent a sheriff's deputy to the hospital. It happened Friday around 3 p.m.
The officer had tried to stop the motorcyclist on Saginaw highway near I-96 because he driving more than 120 miles per hour. During the pursuit the deputy hit a tree, while trying to avoid another vehicle he was passing.
He was taken Butterworth hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police say their investigation continues.
Officers say they are searching for the motorcyclist in multiple counties. He could face a number of charges, in connection with this incident.
