Another dog at the Eaton County Sheriff's Office is getting protection from the bad guys.

The department's K-9 Cash will soon be getting a bullet and stab-proof vest from Vested Interest in K9s, a non-profit organization in Massachusetts whose mission is to provide protection for dogs of law enforcement and other related agencies.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc will be providing more than 350 dogs nationwide with the protective body armor in memory of K9 Rocco of the Pittsburgh Police Department who died in the line of duty in January.

The donation to the Eaton County Sheriff's Office was made possible thanks to a Groupon event put on by the "Occasions" campaign that raised more than $335,000. The department received a vest for its K9 Onyx in January, and hopes to get one more for its other dog. The Grand Ledge Police Department also got a vest for one of its dogs from the same organization.
