Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter sets an opening date for its new Animal Outreach Center.
News 10 first visited the home on the corner of Saginaw Street and Chicago Avenue in Lansing in September, when the project was announced. The Ingham County Land Bank is renting the property, which used to be a vacant home, to the shelter for just a $1 a year for the next three years. All the renovations were paid for with donations and done by volunteers. The center will be funded through private donations and no government funds.
The purpose of the center is to provide services to area residents such as Pet Food Bank, pet licensing services, dog training, humane education for children, animal care services, adoptions and much more.
The grand opening is set for Saturday, January 26 from 12pm - 4pm. The ribbon cutting will be at noon. The public is welcome to attend. The Animal Outreach Center is located at 826 Saginaw in Lansing.
Special volunteer sessions will be held in the coming weeks for volunteers who want to help at the center. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in volunteering or donating to the ICAC Center for Outreach.
